It’s not “ two-thousand and ten.” It’s “twenty-ten.” I like that. It’s spiffy.

I’ve made all my New Year’s Resolutions. Have you? Some folks don’t believe in them. I do. A new year can be hopeful. You can resolve to change what you didn’t like and vow to do more of what you did like!

Steve and I hope this new year brings health and happiness for you and your families. And of course, a tasty 2010!

The Color of Roses

Okay gentlemen, Valentine's Day is coming soon and there is nothing that says romance like a dozen roses. But, be careful "what you say" with those roses. Here's a "Roses 101" study guide you can take with you to the florist:

RED = romantic love
PURPLE = signifies that the giver
has fallen in love at first sight
CORAL & ORANGE = desire
YELLOW = joy and friendship
PINK = gratitude and appreciation
WHITE = reverence and humility

Now, go buy those roses!

Valentine Ambrosia Fruit Salad

In Greek and Roman mythology, ambrosia is the food of the Gods. Here’s a light, delicious, healthy Valentine dessert!

2 bananas, sliced and dipped in orange juice
2 large oranges pared and sectioned
(seedless navel oranges would be good)
1 cup seedless red grapes, halved
3/4 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup orange juice

Layer grapes, bananas, raspberries and oranges in 4 clear dessert dishes, sprinkling coconut between layers. Top with coconut and raspberries. Pour orange juice over the fruit mixture and chill.
